Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United American. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001. She shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's initial Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. She has participated in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 purchase to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second in a family of 10 kids and was raised in Edgewater. Florence was her mother. She was an exemplary household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family was sometimes dependent on the food provided by an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who would drink sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggle in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to an Catholic primary school within her area and began high school at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
